my happy place

never ending hills

beautiful, lush, and green

the sun beginning to set

running with blades of grass

brushing against me

waiting for the moment

where I could stop and be alone

with only my thoughts

and the world in my hands

It was then that I truly felt free.

the end of us consumed me

and led me to believe

that I was at fault

when you were the one

who never valued me at all

-one sided friendship

you let me go when I had

no one left to turn to

at that very moment

you revealed your true self

and I ache for all the times

I believed you would never

hurt me

I had envisioned a life

that you were always apart of

until you left me to sit in this grief

and a decade full of memories

listening to music

dancing on the beach

admiring flowers in the garden

the sweet smile of a friend

a breeze brushing against your skin

cozy late night conversations

rain hitting the window

the simplicity of it all

is what makes life beautiful

I hope you can find peace

one day in who you are

- My parents don't know about you like that
